We set out to create a flexible and expressive virtual trumpet with intuitive controls, unusual, growling sound and with Wah-Wah effect.
We asked a trumpet player to use flutter-tonguing technique and trumpet plunger mute while playing.
Flutter-tonguing is a technique in which performers flutter their tongue to make a peculiar “FrrrrFrrrrr” sound.
Opening and closing the bell of the trumpet with plunger mute we have got the Wah-Wah effect, imitating sometimes the human voice.
